Social Protection

The Bank’s social support policy is aimed at promoting workforce stability and ensuring care for every employee. The Bank provides employees with various benefits and compensation as part of a comprehensive social package in accordance with the Rules for Providing Social Support to Bank Employees. All payments are made within the limits of the relevant budget lines. Social support does not apply to employees hired on temporary or part-time contracts.

The Rules provide for the following types of social support for Bank employees:

Financial assistance;

Financial assistance is provided to employees in the following cases:

for health improvement during paid annual leave;

  • upon marriage;
  • during maternity leave or leave for adoptive parents of a newborn (or newborns);
  • upon the birth or adoption of a child;
  • for medical treatment or surgery for the employee or immediate family members;
  • in the event of the death of the employee or immediate family members.

In 2024, 190 female employees were on parental leave for children under the age of three. Of these, 61 employees began their leave during the year, and 72 employees returned to work after completing their leave.

In accordance with labor laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Bank grants breastfeeding breaks to employed mothers with children under the age of 18 months, as well as to fathers (or adoptive parents) raising children under 18 months in the absence of the mother. In 2024, three female employees exercised this right.

The return-to-work rate was 31.9 %. The retention rate was 84.1 %.

Voluntary Health Insurance Program (sickness coverage);

Employees and their family members are provided with health insurance under a voluntary health insurance program. Funds are allocated for sickness-related coverage in accordance with contracts concluded with insurance companies or healthcare providers, as established by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The medical insurance expenses per employee shall not exceed 100 monthly calculation indices (MCI) for the applicable financial year.

In 2024, an average of 2,168 individuals used healthcare services under the voluntary health insurance agreement, including 1,633 employees and 535 family members.

Compensatory payments;

In cases where an employee relocates to another region due to reassignment or a new job offer, lump‑sum compensatory payments may be provided upon submission of supporting documents for actual expenses incurred:

  • reimbursement for travel costs for the employee and accompanying family members via rail or automobile transport;
  • reimbursement for transportation of household goods by rail or automobile transport for the employee and accompanying family members.
Housing assistance.

Depending on the Bank’s financial capacity, housing assistance may be offered to newly hired or relocated employees in the form of partial reimbursement of rental housing expenses for a period not exceeding two years.
