Membership in International Organizations
European Federation of Building Societies (EFBS)
EFBS is an association of credit and financial institutions that promote and support housing finance. Established on 29 August 1962, the Federation is one of the earliest credit federations at the European level. As Europe moves toward political and economic integration, the Federation advocates for homeownership, represents its members’ interests within the European Union, and ensures its members stay informed about EU integration developments and the actions of European bodies in this regard. The Federation also fosters mutual knowledge-sharing and the exchange of best practices among its members in the field of housing finance and housing policy. Currently, the Federation includes 36 members across Europe and Asia. Otbasy bank’s full membership in EFBS offers a unique opportunity to further develop Kazakhstan’s housing savings system and integrate it with the global network of building societies.
International Union for Housing Finance (IUHF)
In September 2014, IUHF approved the inclusion of Otbasy bank as a member of the organization. The decision became effective on 1 January 2015. IUHF, founded in 1914, is an international body that enables its members to stay informed about the latest developments in housing finance around the world.
