ESG rating
Sustainable Fitch has assigned JSC Otbasy Bank House Construction Savings Bank (Otbasy) an ESG Entity Rating of '3' and a score of ‘55’.
This reflects the positive social impact of the Bank's mortgage lending portfolio, a significant proportion of which is aimed at providing access to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services for certain vulnerable groups. The drive to address the acute problem of housing affordability through the provision of subsidised housing mortgage loans backed by government support is helping to improve housing affordability in Kazakhstan.
The Bank has responded to the growing interest in energy efficient real estate in Kazakhstan by launching a pilot project on energy efficient real estate mortgages.
The Bank's sustainability policy focuses on minimising environmental impact, using green technologies and raising employee awareness, as well as promoting ethics, inclusiveness, fair remuneration and workplace safety.
